If you have a dog or cat that is afraid of fireworks please be careful and make sure that they cannot hurt themselves, or run away during the celebration. If you need any recommendations please call us or come by the store….it does not have to be a stressful night….there are things that will help.

Please come by the store and check out our “Giving Tree” to benefit the dogs and cats of Satchel’s Last Resort ( www.satchelslastresort.com) This is how it works. In the store we have a tree full of ornaments with pictures of the dogs and cats of Satchel’s. On the back of the ornament is a request (consider it a suggestion) for a gift for that animal. When you purchase an item for that animal, you get to take the ornament home for your tree, or refrigerator, or wherever you want to keep it as a “Thank You” for supporting a shelter pet. We are also accepting general donations like bleach, contractor bags, dish washing liquid, etc. for general use at the shelter. Everything is very much appreciated and needed. We will personally deliver the items to the dogs and cats and will post pictures after Christmas of what we hope to be a Very Merry Christmas for them. We want to thank each of you for you continued support of the store (and our causes) throughout the year. We have the best customers! We wish everyone (furry, finned and feathered ones included) a very safe and Happy Holidays!

The leash disconnects and the harness/leash combo can be used for a walk when you reach your destination.

Kurgo also makes a seat-belt tab that allows you to use your current seat-belt system on your dog. Just hook the tab to any harness and thread your chest strap part of your seat-belt through the loop and snap in. Kurgo makes booster seats, seat covers, barriers and all sorts of travel aids for you and your pets. We have been really pleased with the quality and durability of the products. Please come in and check them out for yourself. We will be open 10-3 on Monday (Labor Day)!

Just in time for Tick Season! OrgreenX Spray is a cedar oil based spray that is reported to be the ultimate solution for relief from ticks, fleas and other biting insects on your pets. Cedar Oil is an active ingredient in many natural pest control products and is recognized as a food additive by the Food and Drug administration. Cedar oil comes from the family of plants that include the junipers, three of which are used for production of the oil; Juniperus occidentalis, verginiana and ashei. The oil is steam-distilled and when fresh is pale yellow with a sweet, woody scent. Its uses include pest control for mosquitoes, silverfish and other household or fabric insects; as a product for hair and skin issues; for digestive problems; circulatory improvement; and to prevent colds. Some cultural traditions attribute magical properties to cedar oils. All pesticides used in the U.S. must be registered by the Environmental Protection Agency based on studies showing no unreasonable risk to people or the environment. Cedar oil was registered with the EPA in 1960 as a moth repellent for clothing, and in 1993 the agency proposed an exemption from regulation for natural cedar products, believing them to be of little or no harm to the environment or humans. All pesticide products containing the oil must be properly labeled when intended for use on animals and must specify which animals the product treats. OrgreenX is labeled for use in dogs, cat and any other animals that have fleas or ticks. It can be used to prevent flea and tick infestations or to kill them if they are already present. Best of all – It does not smell bad and is not really oily. It is said to repel mosquitoes and noseeums too. We have OrgreenX available in an 8 oz. spray bottle. Please call us if you have any questions about the product or visit www.OrgreenX.com .
